A TEENAGER has appeared in court accused of raping a 14-year-old girl.
At South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, the 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to rape.
He also denied a charge of sexually assaulting the girl, and charges of possessing a weapon in public and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour.
He is due appear at North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on September 19.
