PRUDHOE Town Council is hopeful more people will get involved with the town’s twinning programme following a successful trip to France.
The council’s chairwoman, Coun. Tracy Gilmore, and representative on the town twinning group Coun. Chris Barrett travelled to Mitry-Mory near Paris.
Councillors also agreed to set aside some of the council’s budget for town twinning expenses, so members from all backgrounds could take part.
Coun. Gilmore said: “The residents are so proud to be twinned with Prudhoe.
“We want to get town twinning back to where it was and how it should be.
“It was a great experience. Everybody in this town could get something out of this.
“It was full on, but it was very very worthwhile.
“I’m really glad we’re putting it into the budget.”
