A TV show followed Northumbria Police officers as they tackled rural crime in Tynedale.

BBC One show 'Our Cops in the North' shadowed Northumberland wildlife officer PC Lee Davison as he investigated poaching crimes and the devastating impact it can have on farmers.

The work Lee and his team carry out involves dedicated police operations and initiatives such as Operation Checkpoint, which sees vehicles being stopped and checked, property being seized and summons being issued.

The cameras followed Lee as he visited farmers across the district who had fell victim to sheep rustling and theft.

It also showed officers alongside volunteers in an operation to identify poachers in the Tynedale area. The operation, starting at Hexham Police Station, caught two men in Haydon Bridge who had an air rifle and dead rabbits confiscated.

The third episode of the series ‘Our Cops in the North’ aired on Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One and can be watched on iPlayer here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m00077v0/our-cops-in-the-north-series-1-episode-3
