SCHOOLCHILDREN can have even more fun in their playground after the installation of a new obstacle trail.
Funding from the PTA at Prudhoe Castle First School, coupled with funding from county councillor Ken Stow’s small schemes allowance, has paid for a trim trail – an obstacle trail made of natural materials – in the playground.
The school is trying to develop its outside activities with an allotment and a wild area, and headteacher Katie Newton said this addition would help improve the focus on spending time outdoors.
“When it was first installed we had a few days of bad weather, so the anticipation was really high and the children were really excited,” she said.
