THREE churches in the Allen Valleys are preparing to hold a festival of angels.

Parishioners of St Mark’s Church in Ninebanks, Holy Trinity in Whitfield, and St Cuthbert’s in Allendale are being invited to make model angels.

The angels will then be displayed and visitors will be able to vote for their favourite in their particular church – and there will be an overall winner as well.

Organiser Sylvia Milburn said: “If people happen to have an angel they can bring it along, but the idea is to make them them. People who visit the churches between September 23 and September 29 will be able to vote for their favourite in each church and overall. They can be made out of anything and they can be any size.”
