THE fate of the Allendale Dalek will be determined next month.
Despite global support, Allendale’s Museum of Sci-Fi owner Neil Cole said he’d been told by county council officials that a report would recommend that the Dalek be refused planning permission.
The controversy around the Dalek, which stands in a shed outside the museum, first hit the headlines in February.
The county council issued Mr Cole with a notice ordering him to remove the shed from his drive.
The council took action after a complaint found Mr Cole did not have planning permission to have the shed outside his Grade II listed home.
However, the Dalek has received an outpouring of support from residents of Allendale, the parish council, and sci-fi fans from across the world.
A county council spokeswoman said that the application was still under consideration and the officers’ recommendations would not be published until a week before the meeting.
