CONSTRUCTION has started on a luxury residential development for homes starting at £625,000.

Work to create three new four-bedroom homes in the village of Slaley is under way after housing developer Anvil Homes was granted permission for the properties back in January.

The homes, on the market under Laurel House with Hexham-based estate agents Foster Maddison, are expected to be completed before Christmas.

During the construction, Anvil Homes said the scheme would support nine as well as creating work for 10 local sub-contractors and suppliers.

Alistair Carr, director at Anvil Homes said: “The Tyne Valley has a great deal to offer as a place to live for people of all ages, so we are delighted to be returning to Slaley to deliver another phase of development. We have incorporated a high level of design and specification into these new homes including hand-built kitchens, luxury bathrooms and efficient air source heat pump with underfloor heating which we expect will prove very popular.”

Neil Foster, of Foster Maddison, said: “We are very excited to be working with Anvil Homes on the latest phase of development at Slaley. We are anticipating a strong level of interest in the three new homes as a direct result of the popularity of the location and the quality of the build.”
