A MAN has died after a taxi crashed into a wall on a remote country road near Haltwhistle.
He had been travelling between Clattering Causeway and Plenmeller, south of Haltwhistle, on Tuesday when the taxi crashed at around 1.30pm.
Emergency services attended and found a man, believed to be in his 50s, dead at the scene.
Police said the man's family were currently being informed and supported by specialist officers.
An investigation is ongoing and police are eager to hear from anybody who witnessed the incident, or who was in the area at the time and might have dashcam footage.
