A MAN stole a number of electrical items worth a total of £160 from a supermarket.
Matthew John Burgess (28), of Wydon Park, Hexham, was fined £225 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £35 and costs of £85 after South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court heard on Saturday that he stole three bluetooth speakers and a power bank from the town’s Tesco store.
The charge of theft from a shop, which occurred on Friday, March 22 of this year, was proven in his absence.
