A MOTORIST has been banned from driving after getting behind the wheel of a car while under the influence of drugs.
At South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court on Thursday, Jan Patterson (42), of Woodhead Road, West Wylam, Prudhoe, admitted two charges of driving with a proportion of a controlled drug above the specified limit.
The court heard that cocaine and the drug benzoylecgonine was found in Patterson's blood while driving on Coldwell Road, in Prudhoe, on February 16.
For driving with cocaine, Patterson was fined £120 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and court costs of £85. Patterson was disqualified from driving for 12 months.
For driving with benzoylecgonine, Patterson was disqualified for 12 months, to run concurrently.
