FOR the second year in a row, Prudhoe Town Council has funded a summer programme of activities in the town.
Last year the council agreed to support families and young people throughout the summer holidays by funding a series of free to attend activities with the provision of a meal. The aim was to support the services available to young people, but also to combat holiday hunger.
At last week’s meeting of Prudhoe Town Council, councillors agreed to spend £15,385, funding various activities this year,
Groups from across the area had applied for funding for events, activities and sessions which they would provide, including soft play sessions, a family fun day at Eastwoods Park, drama and singing workshops and forest school trips.
Prudhoe Town Council agreed to take the £2,135 shortfall for what it had allocated to the programme from its contingency fund.
