THREE volunteers have been recognised for their unsung work in their community.
The women from Ovingham were given Community Champion Awards, which are supported by Hexham’s MP Guy Opperman after Ovingham Parish Council put their names forward.
Ada Blackburn and Judy Campbell were recognised for their support of village events, as well as providing their famous bacon butties to help boost profits. Meanwhile, Glennis Hind was praised for giving support, help and advice in the village, as well as supporting a variety of community and church events.
