A CARE home in Prudhoe opened its doors to the public last week to showcase all it had to offer.
Red Brick House in Prudhoe held a coffee morning and open day to encourage people to get involved.
Visitors included the team from Ready Steady Knit, which runs a knit and natter club; Rachel Bettney who provides meditation classes there; the mayor of Prudhoe and members of the public.
And local resident Brian Whittington went along to see the work which had gone into planting up a greenhouse he had donated to the garden, in memory of his wife – a former resident at the care home.
Activities co-ordinator Martin Foster said: “A lot of care homes close their doors to people I want to open our doors, so people can come in for a cup of coffee or get involved with activities – we have the dog walking group coming in on a Tuesday which the residents love.”
