The man was arrested on the A69
A MAN was arrested following a crash on the A69 early on Monday morning.
The 27-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle whilst unfit after a crash involving a van and an HGV on the A69 eastbound, between Chesterwood and Haydon Bridge at 7.30am.
Police and emergency services attended the scene, and the road was closed to rush hour traffic while the vehicles were recovered from the scene.
The road was fully opened by 10am.
