MEMBERS of a North Tyne community have teamed up to improve the image of its village.
Children from Bellingham First School joined workers from the local Co-op and Bellingham in Bloom to clean and improve the local area.
Sandy Andrews, Co-op store manager said: “We had a great time with the schoolchildren and other members of the local community.
“It was great to see so many people turn out to help improve the cleanliness of Bellingham.”
Armed with their litter picks and bin bags, the group went around the village’s housing estates as well as along the old railway line.
Sandy added: “We do lots of work in partnership with the charities that we are supporting at the Co-op.
"I recently contacted Bellingham in Bloom because of all the fantastic work they do in making the area look great, and they were happy to help.”
