A SUMMER reception in the historic garden of a well-known couple will mark a charity’s 25th anniversary.
Charles Enderby, the former chairman of the bench at Tynedale Magistrates’ Court and previous owner of Hexham Racecourse, and his wife Tina are inviting people into their closed garden at The Riding, in St John Lee, on July 5 to raise money for Tynedale Hospice at Home.
The garden was first established in the 1890s by Charles Henderson, and has been maintained and enhanced over the years by Mrs Enderby, with the help of gardener Richard Blaylock.
Mr Enderby said: “Tynedale Hospice at Home is one of the best charities we know. We can’t think of a nicer charity which benefits the whole community.”
The event, which will run between 6.30pm and 8.30pm, includes a welcome drink and canapes from Saathi Indian restaurant in Hexham.
