A NORTHUMBRIAN scaffolding firm has spoken of its pride in, and ongoing dedication to supporting grassroots sport and community engagement in their local area.
Hexham Scaffolding Co was established in 2012 by engineer Edward Stewart, and now supports several nearby groups, something Mr Stewart sees as part of his company’s responsibility to the local community.
He said: “It’s very important to us as a business, and to me personally, to engage with community groups and local initiatives encouraging our younger generation to participate and try sports and activities.”
“We currently sponsor the Hexham Santos Under 7’s Football Team, the Tynedale Cricket Club, the local branch of the Pony Club, and the annual Haydon Hunt Point 2 Point which is held at the Hexham Racecourse.
"The majority of team sport and event organisation is undertaken by numerous committed volunteers, and as we all don’t have the time to commit, our resolve is to contribute to our community by means of sponsorship."
Hexham Scaffolding provides a safe and dependable scaffolding service for the construction trades, private residential customers and industrial installations, giving workers a safe and stable platform to operate on, and they continue to maintain satisfied customers throughout the North of England.
The firm currently sponsor, among other things, clothing, equipment, and funding to various clubs, and have also been involved in other local projects, including Hexham’s Christmas lights display.
Mr Stewart said: “We work all over Northumberland, the Tyne Valley, and beyond, and much of our work is ultimately generated from in and around our local Hexham base, therefore, we believe in giving back something to our town which our customers and their children can benefit from in the long term.
“Although we’re not a major sponsor, we try to support a few different groups by helping out where we can as it all goes towards youngsters maintaining an interest in local sports, and continuation of our historically strong and united community.”
