THE B6341 road at Rothbury will remain closed until 6pm on Wednesday after a crane fire.
Emergency services were called to the road near Armstrong Cottages at around 7am on Tuesday.
Fire officers believe the blaze, which caused parts of the crane to fly through the air and damage a nearby house, was caused by a vehicle defect.
A statement from Northumberland County Council, said: "The closure is to allow the safe removal of the burned out vehicle which caught fire there this morning.
"Signposted diversions are in place in both directions."
The B6341 from Otterburn to Rothbury was closed on Tuesday morning, but reopened in the afternoon.
