A GROUP of cyclists is riding more than 170 miles to raise money for local community services.
Ken Carlisle, chairman of community group Friends of Chollerton Churches, and a group of local cyclists will travel to Stranraer, to start their sponsored ride in aid of Chollerton C of E Aided First School, St Giles’ Church, Chollerton, and St Christopher, Gunnerton, on Monday, July 8.
Their journey will follow the Sustrans National Cycle trails routes seven and 73 and will take in stops at Wigtown, Castle Douglas, Annan and Newcastleton, and back via Kielder.
Cyclists Richard Hay and Neil Patterson will talk to Chollerton First School children during June about their planned journey. Technology expert Andy Brittlebank will keep the children informed of their progress.
