PLANS for a 184ft tall monument to be built near Kirkwhelpington have recieved backlash from a number of local residents.
The £1m structure dedicated to the Queen on the summit of Cold Law - a hillside near Kirkwhelpington - were submitted by Lord Devonport last May.
Although councillors delayed a decision on whether to approve or reject the plans earlier this month, a protest group has been set up to stop the monument from being built.
And now, one local resident has created a unique poem to voice his objection to the plans.
Although the poem hasn't been submitted as an official objection, its author, Peter Bilton, of East Woodburn, has used rhyme and rhythm to express his thoughts on the plans.
