GROUPS came together to submit their scariest and most creative entries to a fun scarecrow competition.
The Go Local Scarecrow Competition, held at the local food co-op’s land near Halls of Heddon at Ovington, saw entries including book characters, a flowerpot creation, a pirate and a spider. Scarecrows were judged on the use of recycled materials, durability, scare ability, creativity and innovation.
Impressed judges awarded joint first place to Elmer the Elephant, by after-school club Badger Club, and Prudhoe 1st Cub Scouts’ entry.
