THE A69 is blocked after a three-vehicle crash near Brampton.

The incident occurred between Corby Hill and the Hayton junction, near Brampton, around 3.30pm on Wednesday, June 5.

Drivers are being urged to take an alternative route and allow extra time for their journeys.

Meanwhile, a man has been taken to hospital following a crash in Haydon Bridge.

Emergency services were called to a crash on the junction between Martin's Close and John Martin Street on Wednesday.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We got a call at 12.45pm. There was a two vehicle RTC between a van and a car.

"Two ambulances were dispatched and a male driver was taken to Cramlington Hospital with head and arm injuries."

A spokesman for Northumbria Police added: "At 12.51pm on Wednesday, police received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Shaftoe Terrace, Haydon Bridge.

"Emergency services attended and a clear-up operation took place."
