A NATIONAL estate and lettings agent will leave Corbridge as part of plans to centralise its North-East business.

The team at the Savills office on Main Street in the village will transfer to the firm’s new Newcastle office, on Grey Street.

A spokeswoman for Savills said: “Savills is creating a rural hub as part of the existing multi-property service offering in the Newcastle office, from which the Corbridge team will be based.

“The hub will create a central location for our rural team who will continue advising clients with feet on the ground throughout the North-East.

“For clients, having access to a wide range of property-related expertise in one location can only be of benefit and will enable those wishing to explore other property-related opportunities to do so.

“Our business began over 150 years ago as a land agency practice and is now the leading rural property agency, management and consultancy adviser to private individuals, businesses and institutions across the rural economy in the UK.”

Neil Morton, Roger Speirs and Ray Minto were previously based in the Corbridge office before the new office in Newcastle opened in November 2018.
