Northumberland’s NFU Mutual offices went head-to-head at Bywell shooting ground for their annual clay pigeon shoot.
Twenty four teams of four from the Hexham, Alnwick and Morpeth offices took on five stands of 75 clays, but it was the Broxfield Bangers from Alnwick who shot to the top with a score of 376 out of 405.
Two Hexham teams took second and third place, with Philip Hubbuck, Davie Stokoe, Rob Hawkins and George Gamble racking up 372 hits and Paul Lishman, Tony Gradwell, Kevin Spark and Robbie Scott scoring 369. NFU county vice-chairman Tom Richardson teamed up with his brother Hugh Richardson, Anthony Coxen and John Reay. Twenty four shooters represented Hexham with winning overall results.
The charity shoot which followed the main competition raised £250 for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.
