MEMBERS of the Wark community came together for a charity lunch, raising thousands of pounds in the process.
Now in its 30th year, villagers gathered at Wark Town Hall last month for the Wark Charity Lunch, with £3,650 from the proceeds going to local charity Tynedale Hospice at Home.
Local volunteers and businesses helped provide a wide selection of food at the popular annual event which always attracts a large crowd.
Sally McRobie, communications and marketing officer for Tynedale Hospice at Home, said: “We were hugely honoured to be chosen as the representative charity for the lunch.
“The team produced a wonderful banquet of delights with enough to serve two sittings. The £3,650 raised could pay for 74 hours of hospice nursing care for a patient in their own home. We would like to thank everyone who participated.”
