PUPILS at Haydon Bridge High School have been given the chance to chose what books go in their library.
The school was visited by a book bus from Brown’s Books for students last week.
Pupils got the chance to read books of their choice in the sun whilst enjoying ice cream.
They were then asked to nominate books to go in the library.
Beth Ward, the school’s English leader, said: “The books we would choose aren’t necessarily the books they would choose.
“The library has to have what they’re interested in or they won’t use it.
“Reading is so important. It’s the cornerstone of their education.”
