A NEW addition to Northumberland County Show will get visitors' blood pumping.
For a 5km run will be added to the line-up of the show for the first time, with thanks to a collaboration from Hexham chipboard manufacturer Egger and Tynedale events company Run Nation.
Starting at 2pm, the run will be open to those aged 11 and over.
Jonathon Stephens, Egger Plant Manager (Finance and Administration), said, “We are delighted to be hosting the first Egger Woodland Run at the Northumberland County Show. It’s a fantastic opportunity for both experienced runners, and those just starting out, to challenge themselves to something new.”
Robert Raine, show chairman, said, “The Egger Woodland Run is a fresh and exciting way for visitors to enjoy the beautiful countryside around Bywell as well as enjoying a great day out at the biggest one day agricultural show in the North-East.
"We are grateful to Egger for being the inspiration behind what we hope will become an annual event.”
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers and all participants will receive an Egger goodie bag.
Northumberland County Show will be held on Monday, May 27 at Bywell Hall.
