A SCHEME which centres on upgrading junctions at two key sections of the Tyne Valley’s busiest trunk road was always going to bring with it disruption.
There are those who believe the £30m plan to transform the A69 at Hexham’s Bridge End and Corbridge’s Styford roundabouts is an unnecessary inconvenience.
Meanwhile others, including Guy Opperman MP, believe it is an essential step towards the future dualling of the A69 west of Hexham.
Whatever your view, it’s now three months since work to clear and prepare Bridge End roundabout began, with no clarity on the logistics of how the project will be delivered.
One thing is clear, motorists will feel the effects in some shape or form.
We call on Highways England to outline their revised plans so local people and businesses can start making contingency plans.
