THE PRIME Minister has announced she will resign as party leader in two weeks.
Speaking outside Downing Street, Theresa May annouced she would resign on Friday, June 7.
Mrs May, who was in tears as she finished her speech, will stay on as Prime Minister until a new leader is chosen.
Contenders for the job are lining up for the battle, with the race set to begin the following week.
Mrs May has faced criticism for being unable to deliver Brexit, which she described as "an enormous personal regret."
