FURTHER funding has been allocated to give Hexham a 'deep clean'.
Northumberland County Council has granted Hexham Town Council £4,500 to perform a clean-up of the town's main streets, with work expected to be completed by the end of this month.
The grant is a further boost to the town following the town council's purchase of a road sweeper last year.
Tom Pearson, a member of Hexham Town Council, said: "This is a welcome boost to enhance the town's image. It is important that Hexham looks its best particularly ahead of the tourist season."
