A NUMBER of vehicles parked on the same street were damaged overnight on Friday.
Just before 7am on Saturday, Northumbria Police received a report of damage to a number of vehicles on New Ridley Road, in Stocksfield.
A police spokesman said registration plates had been stolen from a number of the vehicles, while one car also had its wing mirror damaged.
He said: "This type of behaviour is totally unacceptable and enquiries are ongoing to locate those responsible. Officers have increased patrols in the area and anyone who is a victim of this type of crime is encouraged to contact police."
