A Wigton man has denied an allegation of attempted murder.
Scott Thomas Topping, 39, appearing over a video link at Carlisle Crown Court, is accused of trying to murder Robert Pattinson on April 12.
He also pleaded not guilty to four other allegations.
They are: a common assault on Lisa Dixon; threatening Neil Dixon with a knife; having an offensive weapon - a knife, in King Street, Wigton; and affray.
Francis McEntee, prosecuting, said the trial is likely to last five days. Judge James Adkin ruled that the trial will start on September 30.
The defendant, of Mulligan's Court, Wigton, who is remanded in custody, spoke only to confirm his details and enter his pleas.
Mr McEntee added that said there is likely to be a great deal of medical evidence. The barrister referred to a knife being emedded in bone in the alleged's victim's head area.
All the alleged offences are said to have happened on April 12 this year in Wigton.
