TWO 11-year-old girls have put their heads together to raise more than £1,000 for charity.
Henshaw C of E Primary School pupil Chloe Makepeace and her friend Imogen Nolan, who goes to Greenhead Primary School, organised a fair at Bardon Mill Village Hall on Sunday.
Their mission was to raise money for the Newcastle United Foundation, which has done work in both schools to help youngsters get into sport.
They wrote to local businesses and managed to build up an impressive set of prizes to raffle, in addition to a whole host of other activities they set up at the fair to raise funds. Chloe’s mum Sherry said: “We’re really proud of them. It gives motivation for people to raise money for charity because if two 11-year-olds can do it anyone can.”
