TWO people were taken to hospital after a crash on the A68 last night.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Carterway Heads at around 6.30pm last night, where two vehicles were involved in a collision.
A spokesman from Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service, said: "We attended the scene where one person was trapped in an overturned vehicle.
"The person was extracted from the vehicle by Fire and Rescue Service personnel and transported by the North East Ambulance Service.
"One pump from Hexham attended the scene alongside a West Hartford specialist unit, and two pumps from Durham Fire and Rescue Service."
A spokeswoman from North East Ambulance Service added: "We dispatched two double crewed ambulances and one Hazardous Area Response Team. Two patients were transported to North Durham University Hospital."
