A WORKING mother has been enticed into politics by the prospect of making a change.
Penny Hawley, of Hexham, has been chosen as a candidate for the newly formed Change UK – the Independent Group in the European elections on May 23.
The political party was formed in April by former Labour politicians who wanted to break away from the main parties.
Penny said: “I’m like a lot of people who have felt for a long time that there hasn’t been a political party in the mainstream which represents my views, and I struggled to find a party until I heard about Change UK. Politics is broken and Change UK is made up of a lot of diverse people from a lot of different backgrounds to try to change that.”
