A MAN was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of drink driving after a collision in Hexham.

The 49-year-old driver was arrested after a white van collided with two parked cars on St Mary's Wynd.

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: "The man had then parked up further down the street but it was suspected that he could be under the influence of alcohol.

"Officers attended the scene and the 49-year-old man was arrested."
