A HEXHAM-born singer tipped as a rising star has released her debut album.

Jade Bird (21) lived in Tynedale until she was three years old, before moving away with her parents.

Last Friday, she released her debut album Jade Bird on Glassnote Records.

The star-in-the-making has been writing songs for around eight years and gigging since she was 14.

Jade also received a nomination in the BBC’s Sound of 2017 poll.

Since then she has seen success with tracks Uh Huh, Love Has All Been Done Before and I Get No Joy.

Earlier this year, she toured the US in support of Irish musician, Hozier, and is set to embark on her own UK tour in the autumn.

Jade was set to support Tom Walker at Newcastle’s O2 Academy last night and will be performing at Newcastle University’s Students’ Union on Saturday, November 16.
