CATCH him if you can – a magician in the making will showcase his escapology skills in Hexham.

By mixing the more traditional card tricks with his ability to escape from straitjackets and handcuffs, Alex Williams (16), of Hexham, is making a name for himself as a budding magician.

The talented teenager was recently appointed junior president of the Neptune Junior Magic Society and will feature in his first show when he and four other members of the society perform at the Vault, in Hexham, on June 22.

The Dame Allan’s Schools pupil has been honing his skills by carrying out close-up table magic at Hexham’s Golden Dragon Chinese restaurant on Saturday afternoons and is excited for his first show.

He said: “It’s going to be a brilliant show and I would recommend people come along. Working at the restaurant has been really good for my confidence as close-up magic is difficult.”
