THE search is on to find a newly-engaged couple whose special moment on Hadrian's Wall was captured without them even realising.
Photography student Maisie Hall, from Chester-le-Street, was visiting Sycamore Gap on March 30 when she realised that she had unintentionally captured a proposal in the background of one of her family shots.
The 21-year-old then managed to capture the couple's next few moments, where they can be seen hugging beneath the iconic tree. She is now hoping to find the couple so they can keep the pictures as a memory of their special day.
Maisie, a first year Manchester Metropolitan University student, said: "At first I didn’t realise that the man was proposing, it wasn’t until my mam had said, but I was none the wiser to it all.
"It was such a beautiful moment, and I couldn’t help but snap them. I did want to approach them at the time, however due to lack of confidence I stopped myself.
"When I eventually uploaded the photos to my laptop I realised what a precious moment I had captured and I felt selfish keeping them to myself. That’s why I shared it on Facebook in hope of finding them and sharing their happiness."
Maisie has shared her appeal via a Facebook post which has now been shared dozens of times.
