HEXHAM will once again spring into action this weekend.

For the Hexham Spring Festival, organised by Hexham Community Partnership, will take place on Saturday.

The event, which will run from 9am to 4.30pm, will incorporate the popular, regular Hexham Farmers’ Market and will provide various market stalls offering food, arts, crafts and gifts within the grounds of Hexham Abbey.

In the bandstand, live music from local choirs and bands will take place, while activities and workshops, including welly wanging, face painting, woodcraft and bushcraft skills, will keep the entire family entertained.

In the cloister of the Abbey, people can either have a spin on the go karts or go on an alpaca trek.

There is also a push to ‘Back British Farming’ as people will be able to take part in some hands-on activities involving visiting farm animals.
