CHILDREN with cancer will benefit from money raised by a Prudhoe group over the past year.
Prudhoe & District University of the Third Age (U3A) has held events across the year to raise money for CLIC Sargeant Children’s Cancer Charity.
At a cheque presentation held at the town’s Spetchells Centre, members presented the £632 to the charity, which is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children, young people and their families.
The money was raised at events including a strawberry coffee morning which was held last year and various raffles as well as individual donations from Prudhoe U3A’s members.
Pam Stott, secretary of Prudhoe U3A, said: “We were very pleased. Every year we choose a different cancer charity to donate to. We don’t do major fund-raisers like holding dances or anything so this is just from small things we have held.”
