NORTHUMBERLAND County Council has stopped funding for an anti-racism schools programme.
The authority recently ended its contract with Show Racism the Red Card, an educational charity that provides workshops in schools.
The council said that the contract only offered sessions for a small number of schools and teachers, and that it believed ‘available funding could be better targeted to enable a more broad range of resources for schools which covered all areas of potential discrimination’.
