ARMED police were out in force in the sleepy village of Ovington at the weekend.
Northumbria Police were called to an address in the village just after 2pm on Saturday after suspicions were raised of someone being in possession of a firearm.
A police spokesman attended an address where they have seized an air rifle. Officers established that nobody was actually threatened, and no-one was been arrested.
Enquiries were ongoing to see if any criminal offences had been committed.
