AN OLYMPIC athlete is to hold a session with a Prudhoe running group before holding a talk in the town.
English middle-distance runner Laura Weightman is visiting Prudhoe on Thursday where she will be running an exclusive training session for Prudhoe Plodders, before staying to hold a public talk at the Fuse media centre.
She reached the 1500 metres final at the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio Olympics, and won a silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and bronze medals at the 2014 and 2018 European Championships.
During the night, which is being organised by the Movie Prop Warehouse, she will be talking through her career and training methods, before holding an audience question and answer session. It will be hosted by Red Carpet and TV presenter Andy Oliver.
