A WOMAN has been banned from driving for 19 months after she was caught driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Elizabeth Thompson (58), from Bar Hills, Consett, appeared at South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, April 4.
She pleaded guilty to one count of driving when her alcohol level was over the limit.
The charge relates to an incident on March 3 on the A68 where she had 70 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.
As well as being disqualified for 19 months, Thompson was fined £120 and ordered to pay £40 costs, and £30 victim surcharge.
