A PRUDHOE grandmother who took to the catwalk for a charity close to her heart has played her part in raising £15,000.
Kathleen Tulip, who has been free from ovarian cancer for 20 years, was chosen as one of 13 models who have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer to take part in the Touch of Teal fund-raiser in London, for the leading support charity Ovacome.
Kathleen walked down the catwalk at the the May Fair Hotel for Ovacome’s tenth annual event to raise awareness of the disease on March 23.
She organised a coffee morning in Prudhoe and raised £920, which combined with the funds raised by the other models made a total of £15,000.
She said: “There are so many unpleasant things happening in the world right now, but there are an enormous amount of very generous people in our country.”
