PUPILS from Prudhoe Community High School visited the Science Museum in London to receive a national award for raising awareness about the global threat of anti-microbial resistance (AMR).

The Superbugs: Join the Fight competition was won by a team represented by Katy O’Sullivan Guy, who won the top prize after defeating 600 other entries.

The winning entry saw the pupils use comic strip characters to tell the story of AMR and the ways we can fight against it.

Head of biology, Denise Pentland, said: “The competition gave us the chance to introduce this vitally important topic to our pupils in a way that grabbed their attention.”
