RESULTS released last year from Allendale Primary School showed that 100 per cent of pupils either reached or exceeded the expected standard in writing by the time they finished key stage two, putting them in the top one per cent in England.
Their success has led to the school receiving a letter from Education Secretary Damian Hinds congratulating the school on their achievement.
Headteacher Alison Hawkins said: “We’re really pleased.
“Our children are great readers and that lays the foundation of the writing curriculum.
“Because they have such a love of reading, I think that helps them with their writing.”
