HOMES in South Tynedale were without power on Wednesday as Storm Gareth brought strong winds to the district.
Northern Powergrid confirmed the power supply to 22 homes in Whitfield was disrupted at 6.27am on Wednesday morning.
A spokeswoman said a section of overhead power lines had been damaged by the strong winds. Power had been restored to four homes by 10.43am while work was ongoing to restore power to the rest by 3pm.
Northumbria Police confirmed that trees were blown down at the Cupola Bends, on the A686 near Whitfield, on Eilansgate in Hexham and near Brunton Turret at Wall.
