A MAN who pretended to be his brother when he was pulled over by police has been sentenced.
Kevin Jackson of Castle Lea, Prudhoe, was pulled over on October 25 last year in Newburn.
However, he had no valid licence or insurance and was already on a suspended prison sentence, and he gave police his brother’s details.
The 33-year-old appeared at Newcastle Crown Court on February 26 and pleaded guilty to obstructing a police officer, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and having no insurance. He also admitted being in breach of a 12 month prison sentence, suspended for two years, which was imposed in April last year.
He was told the suspended sentence would continue and he was given an additional 80 hours unpaid work.
